As the Truth and Reconciliation Commission events come to a close in Ottawa this weekend, the question that arises is, “What now”? Inspirit Foundation has joined 28 partners from the philanthropic community in expressing our commitment to support healing and reconciliation by honouring the spirit, intent and content of the TRC’s recommendations in our work. We have added our signature to The Philanthropic Community’s Declaration of Action, which was offered during the TRC’s Actions of Reconciliation session on June 1, 2015. The declaration was later placed in a 2-foot long birch wood canoe that was placed in the Bentwood Box to symbolize our commitment.
