Dale Godsoe

Dale Godsoe retired in 2006 from her position as External Vice-President at Dalhousie University, where she led fundraising, alumni, marketing, and public affairs efforts. Dale is currently a governor of the University of King's College, a Director of the Queen Elizabeth II Foundation Board and of The Provincial Autism Centre. She is also Chair of Symphony Nova Scotia's endowment campaign.

Her extensive contributions to community service include chairing the Halifax by Design Task Force; being a member of the Strategic Urban Partnership, the Halifax Regional Planning Committee, and the World Council at YWCA; and serving on the Broadbent Panel on Governance and Accountability in the not-for-profit sector. She was also a member of the Prime Minister's External Advisory Committee on Cities and Communities in Canada.

Dale has received two honorary degrees from Mount Saint Vincent University and Saint Mary's University, as well as the Women of Excellence award for her work in Arts and Culture and the Concertmaster's Award from Symphony Nova Scotia. In 1998 she became a Member of the Order of Canada, and in 1995 she was awarded the Canada Volunteer Award.
